River Run Centre Wedding | Guelph Ontario | Maggie and Ben

"I would send you a bouquet of newly sharpened pencils if I knew your name and address.”

Maggie and Ben's love story - in the words of Maggie

We don't actually remember the first time we met, but it was likely during our first few weeks at the University of Guelph in 2009. This was the same time that we were meeting many of the people who would become our best friends. Aggie life was the foundation of our friendship, but we eventually found we shared plenty in common besides agriculture, and eventually lead us to begin dating in fall 2011. Again, neither of us can remember when our first date was, but Ben does remember who was pitching in the playoff game on TV, so that counts for something right? Since then we have dated long-distance and medium-distance, living in different cities and provinces. We finally came back to work in Guelph, a city we both love. Ben proposed on our first big trip together, to Scotland in 2016, popping the question after a day of exploring beautiful Edinburgh.

I met Maggie only once before her wedding day at River Run Centre in Guelph Ontario.  Three words come to mind when I think of her - sweet, caring and kind.  Then I met Ben, and the same 3 words pop in my head. Maybe a little more quiet or reserved, but I could be wrong about that as I was not at the wedding after drinks came out :)

Throughout their wedding day it was apparent that everyone felt the same way as I did about Maggie and Ben and from the stories that were told, those 3 words rang true.

The wedding reception was filled with touches of literature which I LOVED. These two love books and reading and planned the details around that - from the library cards on the seating chart, to the personalized pencils - their love for lit was weaved throughout the day.

Ben and Maggie - Thank you for allowing me to be present for your wedding day and capture a small yet important moment of your life.  I hope some day in the distant future someone finds a dusty old shoebox full of your wedding photos and can feel the love you have for each other from those images. I am honoured to have been a part of your history.
