One of the best parts of being a wedding photographer is meeting other vendors and creatives. I was lucky enough to meet Darlene of Seasons Floral Studio located in Schomburg Ontario almost two years ago when a group of us got together to collaborate on this styled Bridal Shoot.

Recently I reached out to Darlene and asked if I could photograph her at work and feature her as part of my new Vendor Spotlight series. She said yes! Yay, me!

I spent a couple hours at her gorgeous studio located in Schomburg Ontario getting to know Darlene and her employees a little. {And maybe left with the best chocolate I have had in a long time}

Seasons opened in September 2005

When did you know you wanted to own a floral business?

Since I was 15

What is your favourite part of florals/business?

I always loved art, I loved flowers as a medium. I loved that flowers bring joy to whomever receives them and that each design is unique and different.

Do you have any tips/advice for future Brides and Grooms in regard to planning florals for their wedding?

At Seasons we love chatting with new brides, we encourage brides to bring us their ideas and lists of things they want to include in their special day, colours, themes, unique activities. This gives us an overall idea of what they are hoping to achieve. We ask for preferred budgets, so we can better quote aspects that will be most effective for their goals.

There is a huge trend of simplistic / creativity through weddings, a huge influence of botanical, natural looking florals – branches and natural blooms with movement.

We always provide a sample board and samples of the table arrangements, so couples can see the floral inspiration come to life and start to get excited about their unique event.

All of our weddings are custom and unique, over the past 25 years I have been in the industry, I can honestly say no 2 are ever alike. At seasons we strive to create unique and fresh ideas – to bring the couples personality through creative uses of décor and florals.

Tips for Brides and Grooms : Be open and honest about budget, our job is to get creative based on your budget

Know your set up and removal times for church and reception, this helps us plan our overall staffing and day.
